Data Design
In this research project I question the role of the architect in the future and I explore what it would mean -for architects as well as for people´s living environments- if there would be algorithms that could design for us. For this, I used Christopher Alexander’s book called ‘A Pattern Language’, which in my opinion makes for very healthy and livable environments. For this project I also learned Grasshopper, an algorithmic 3D modeling tool for Rhino. What if we could teach computers to apply these design patterns? And would it be good design, or do we still need a human hand?
